HIDING LOVE

Acrylic 30CM * 90CM Taipei Home

After an earthquake in Taipei or before the Lunar New Year, it’s common to see people clearing out large furniture, placing it at designated street corners for special collection. I often pause to observe what we have chosen to discard. Among them, I salvaged this gold-rimmed glass frame and gave it new meaning through this artwork.

In my country’s cities, people often tuck away their enthusiasm, hiding it behind a reserved demeanor. Their gazes avoid direct contact as they weave through the streets. I placed this piece of glass on the road to reflect these behaviors—laying them bare, revealing what lies beneath. Please look through it and perceive the emotions flowing within yourself.

This unspoken restraint always lingers here.
